indeed, that is what I would like to recommend too but simply would give you the link to the section you asked for ^^. The product suggestions seems to be a relict from the past open source time. I'm not working with SugarCRM anymore but I loved to have a BugID and getting updates about the status so I can absolutely recommend to open a supportcase as an enhancement request as the service the SugarCRM Support team is delivering here is absolutely great :-)

From what I understand the best bet is to open a case with support. So if you would like to do the same and ask them to link your case to Defect 81888 perhaps having more cases linked to it will carry some weight.

I also understand, working in a software company, that it's very hard to prioritize things and in the grad scheme of things this is not a high priority.

I believe you're talking about Developer Suggestions page? That's a good place to start and get upvotes/downvotes on an idea, but if that is not translated into a bug/enhancement it will not be tracked not triaged by our PM in our formal channels.

It doesn't necessarily mean we don't review those suggestions, it isn't as strong as a bug/enhancement, that's how your ideas get visibility from our PMs.

Hi Francesca Shiekh,

I'm sure you know this, but sugar has in the compose email functionality, the "address book" screen where you can search and select records and you will be able to see them there or in the email screen, if the email is not in the system, it will show up as the full email address.

If that does not work for you, which I believe it doesn't, I encourage you to open a new "Bug" in your portal and select "Enhancement".

Sadly I have not had the time... I am hoping that Sugar will improve on this some time soon :)
Rafael Fernandes do you know if there are any improvement plans?
Is there somewhere where we can submit this as an "idea"? I'm afraid I'm not finding the Idea board anymore...

Hi Francesca Shiekh

You would need to create a custom plugin based on EmailParticipants one (include/javascript/sugar7/plugins/EmailParticipants.js), this plugin is loaded by BaseEmailsEmailRecipientsField (modules/Emails/clients/base/fields/email-recipients/email-recipients.js).

Inside that Plugin, within "callbacks.success", it create an EmailParticipants bean (modules/EmailParticipants/) but it only defines the parent (parent_type, parent_id and parent_name), fully ignoring the target email_address. So you probably have to override such a function in order to include the target email_address.
